Ask The Mayor

D.J. Ory, Mayor

Q. -We purchased our home in the Forest Creek Addition. We noticed all the fire hydrants in the neighborhood are looking really bad. Was wondering how we go about getting the fire hydrants painted? Is it possible that the Residents can paint them ourselves as long as they are painted the same color as they are now? Also, at the corner of State St. and Poetry Road there has been a very large dead tree limb that has fallen from a tree and is still hanging on the electrical wire for over a year now. I would think this would be a fire hazard. Can the city have this cleaned up?

Answer - Thanks for your inquiry.

Your concern regarding painting of fire hydrants has been forwarded to the City Engineering Department. The city does not recommend painting the fire hydrant yourself. The tree limb issue was provided to the Director of Public Services. Please look for quick action on this item.

Sincerely,

D.J. Ory, Mayor
